Hasselt University announces, within the Center for Statistics, the UHasselt entity of the Interuniversity Institute for Biostatistics and statistical Bioinformatics the following position (m/f):

PhD (2×2 years) `Statistical Methodology in Vaccine and Infectious Disease Research`
(mandate 090/32/045)

Job description
PhD in statistical methodology in vaccine and infectious disease research. The research activities are part of an interuniversity collaboration between the Institute VAXINFECTIO of the University of Antwerp, and the Center for Statistics, Hasselt University. The main interdisciplinary research themes are i) to improve and/or increase the understanding of the immune system, ii) to develop strategies for the containment of antibiotic resistance and iii) to develop new methodology in modeling infectious disease spread.

With His Majesty`s consent, the Government of Brunei Darussalam is offering annual scholarships under a special scholarship award scheme, commencing in 2010/2011 academic session.

Tenable in Brunei Darussalam, the aim of the Scholarship awards is to provide students, with the opportunity to study at Universiti Brunei Darussalam [UBD], Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali [UNISSA] and Institut Teknologi Brunei [ITB]. The academic year for UBD, UNISSA and ITB commences in July / August 2010.

1. ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be citizens of ASEAN, OIC, Commonwealth Member Countries and others and must be between the ages of 18 - 25 at the commencement of the academic session for which they are applying for admission. However, under exceptional case, the age limit requirement may be waived for candidates who are applying for Masters and PhD Programmes.

Chinese Government Scholarship scheme is established by the Ministry of Education of P.R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) in accordance with educational exchange agreements or understandings reached between Chinese government and governments of other countries, organizations,education institutions and relevant international organizations to provide both full scholarships and partial scholarships to international students and scholars. Giessen University`s International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC), funded by the German federal government`s Excellence Initiative, offers a three-year structured PhD-programme in the study of culture. With its excellent research environment, a doctoral programme which is tailored to the needs of PhD students and the intensive personal support it provides, the GCSC offers postgraduate students optimum conditions for their PhD-projects and a custom-made preparation for the time thereafter, both with regard to academic and non-academic careers.

From 1st October 2010, we offer up to 9 PhD scholarships.

PhD scholarships include a monthly stipend of approximately 1.100 and are offered for one year with the possibility of two extensions, each of a year. Scholarships commence on 1st October, 2010.

Application deadline: January 29, 2010.
Japanese Studies Program is one of the Japanese Government scholarship programs (Monbukagakusho) specifically designed for japanese studies students to enhanced Japanese language skills and deepen understanding of Japanese culture. This program is a non-degree programs and the length is 1 year from October 2010.

Requirements
1. Students who are still active in college at one college who studied the language, culture, and literature of Japan.
2. Age under 30 years old on April 1, 2010.
3. Students from third level up in time to apply (no exceptions for those who have the ability and recommended by the college and who have learned more than one year in college on 1 April 2010 may participate although not yet reached a level three).
4. Physical and spiritually healthy.

Facilities
- Without the bond department.
- Flight ticket allowance, economy class Indonesia (Jakarta) - Japan.
- Free entrance examination fees, tuition and registration fee.
- Monthly allowance of ¥ 134,000 per month (there is a possibility to change).
- Participants provided dormitory regulated solely by payment recipients.
